Let the jewelry guide the selection
Start with the shape and finish of the items being displayed. Rings, necklaces, earrings and watches need different support. The lining should work with the internal layout rather than serve only as a decorative surface.
Compare light and dark colors
Light lining can create a soft, understated setting; darker lining can create contrast. Compare samples with the actual products and the intended lighting. A color that looks suitable on a monitor may appear different beside a particular metal, stone or wood finish.
Look at the surface closely
Review texture, pile direction and the appearance of joins or edges. Ask how the selected material will be used around dividers, cushions and corners. Physical samples help the project team discuss the desired presentation consistently.
Test the layout in use
Place the intended items into the sample and check loading, removal and spacing. For a tray, review how pieces remain organized. For a box, check the relationship between the insert, the lid and any movable components.
Document the approved combination
Record the chosen lining reference together with the wood finish and internal structure. Keep the approved sample as the shared point of reference for the order. Final material suitability should be confirmed for the specific products and project requirements.
