Start with the product inside
Before discussing the outside of a box, define what it must protect and present. Record the dimensions of the watch, jewelry item or accessory in its intended orientation. Include any removable inserts, cushions or protective wrapping. A simple dimensioned drawing is often more useful than a photograph alone.
Describe how the packaging will be used
Presentation on a counter, gifting and transport place different demands on a structure. Explain how the box will be opened, how often it will be handled, whether the contents need to remain visible and how the finished pack will travel. These details help the team discuss lids, hinges, closures and internal support.
Choose a clear visual direction
Share reference images for wood tone, finish, lining color and logo placement. Explain which details are essential and which are open to development. Natural wood grain varies; the final finish should be assessed on a physical sample under suitable lighting rather than selected from a screen alone.
Include the commercial essentials
Provide the estimated quantity, delivery destination and preferred timing. If a project has several versions, list each version separately. Keeping these details together makes it easier to compare quotations against the same requirements.
Use the sample to close the gaps
Review the sample against the agreed brief: fit, compartments, materials, closure, branding and protective packing. Record approved details and any changes in writing before production. The approved sample and written agreement should define the final project.
